Backroads Day 4: 41.4 bike miles, Artesa, Bouchaine, Carneros, Sonoma Mission Inn, Sante
We left Yountville and road south, stopping at Artesa Winery to enjoy the view, taste a few of their wines, and admire their grounds. Then it was back on the bikes to Bouchaine Winery where we stopped for lunch and another wine tasting. The wind picked up around this time! We continued on through Carneros and then headed back up north to reach Sonoma Mission Inn. We rode 41.4 miles in 3.4 hours for a 12.2 mph average -- tough headwinds through Carneros! We enjoyed a nice dinner at Sante accompanied by a Krug N.V. Champagne and a 2002 Verite Le Desir.
