May 21-31, 2003: Ben and Lisa visit Portugal!
We flew to Lisbon via London, enjoyed a few days exploring the area, and then started our six day
Backroads
bicycle trip. On the second day of bicycling Ben hit a truck and separated his left shoulder, so
he "hit the showers early". At Ben's insistance, Lisa finished up the trip as planned, while Ben
flew back to get a medical evaluation at home. The verdict: no surgery! Lisa enjoyed several more
days of cycling, hills, heat, and the beauty of Portugal.
