X-Rays, MRI, Monsaraz, Vila Viçosa, Quinto do Carmo
[Seattle] Ben had all-digital xrays and 30 minutes of Gadolinium MRI in the afternoon.
[Portugal] By Day Four, Lisa was turning into a "heat wimp".
She rode from Vila Vicosa to the medieval hilltop village of Monsaraz
and shuttled back to Vila Vicosa.
Portugal is the world's second largest exporter of marble,
and around 90% of the marble is quarried in the Alentejo region.
The first part of Day Four's ride was past a few of the marble quarries.
The best part of the ride was the last 1.5 km uphill to Monsaraz.
After driving up to many European hilltop towns, Lisa discovered that it is possible
to ride up those hills and it's very satisfying to do so!
She only saw three other people that looked like tourists in Monsaraz
(or in Vila Vicosa later that day, and they were the same three people!)
After returning to Vila Vicosa, Lisa had an opportunity to wander around town
before departing for a wine tasting at Quinto do Carmo.
