Sintra, Palacio da Pena, Lisbon
By the last day of Portugal, Lisa was finally ready to switch over to Ben's camera (Canon D60).
Low and behold, the clarity of her photos takes a giant leap forward today!
Bill, Sally, Henry, Leigh and Lisa spent their last morning in Portugal wandering around Sintra.
Sintra was a favorite summer retreat for the kings of Portugal
and the gardens and architecture are still very impressive.
Our morning's destination was the Palacio da Pena, built in the 19th century.
The palace is filled with oddities from all over the world and surrounded by a spectacular park.
The exterior of the palace feels somewhat like the exterior walls of Disneyland.
After stopping for Chinese food across from the train station in Sintra,
we traveled to the Lapa Palace (http://www.lapa-palace.com)
in Lisbon, Lisa's final destination.
