Berlin Moscow Restaurant, Pergamon Museum, Berlin Neues Museum, Gabriele Restaurant
Despite the fact that we had "sprung forward" two weeks early in the USA,
the Germans advanced their clocks an hour at 2:00 a.m. this morning.
So Ben and Nate slept in until 11:00 a.m., then got up, showered, and headed out to find lunch.
We found
Berlin Moscow Restaurant
a few blocks from our hotel and sat down for a Russian meal while we watched
the last 15 or so laps of the
2012 Formula 1 Petronas Malaysia Grand Prix.
We were surprised to see many familiar drivers names, including
Fernando Alonso,
Mark Webber,
Kimi Raikkonen,
Michael Schumacher,
Jenson Button,
Felipe Massa,
and
Pedro de la Rosa.
Alonso won driving for
Ferrari.
We continued walking up the
Unter den Linden
to the
Pergamon Museum
where we spent about 90 minutes admiring the
Pergamon,
the
Ishtar Gate,
and other old artifacts.
It was a short walk from there to the
Berlin Neues Museum
where spent a bit over an hour admiring the paintings and
Rodin's Thinker.
We stopped in at the
Bugatti
dealer to oogle the
Veyron 16.4
and then returned to our hotel for a few hours.
We walked next door to the
Gabriele Restaurant
for a nice Italian meal accompanied by a
1988 Gaja Langhe Chardonnay Gaia & Rey
that was well over the hill but not uninteresting.
