Wed Mar-28 Kreutzkamm, St. Michael's, St. Peter's, Deutsches Museum, Residenz Museum, Brenner Grill
Clear sunny skies returned this morning and we set out just before 10:00 a.m. and stopped a few blocks away for a light breakfast at Konditorei Kreutzkamm (founded in 1825).

We walked on and stopped in briefly at St. Michael's Church Munich and St. Peter's Church Munich before pressing on and arriving at the Deutsches Museum just after 11:00 a.m. As our friends had promised, this was quiet the museum of science and technology! We enojoyed the ships, cars, airplanes -- including an Messerschmitt Me 262 (the first production jet fighter plane), rockets -- a V1 and V2, sundials, and a collection of "computers" ranging from slide rules to adding machines to early digital computers. Nearly 3 hours later we sat down for a simple lunch at the museum restaurant and then departed for the local Games Workshop so Nate could buy a model.

We walked over to the Residenz Museum and spent just over an hour marveling at the ornate buildings, rooms, tapestries, paintings, furniture, and giltwork.

We had some down time at the hotel and Ben picked up our laundry.

We walked a few kilometers to Brenner Grill for dinner with Berndt, a 1983 Northwestern Kellogg graduate. After trying the local Augustiner Brau Munchen beer (a bit light for Ben's taste), we enjoyed a bottle of 2000 Chateau Cos d'Estournel with our dinner and a delightful half bottle of 2000 Bacchus Trockenbeerenauslese Sommeracher Katzenkopf Weingut Ostreicher Franken with dessert.
